The Bilbao City Council has programmed for this year’s edition of the tourist routes ‘Women in the history of Bilbao’, visits to Zorrotzaurre and Olabeaga.

This programme which commemorates March 8th (International Women’s Day), the first edition of which was last year, sets up routes through the city from a female point of view, highlighting those women who have brought and continue to bring value to the economic, social and cultural development of Bilbao society.

For 2017, the City Council has programmed routes through Zorrotzaurre and Olabeaga, which will cover the industrial archaeology of the areas and highlight the contribution and situation of women in the construction of the city.

The routes, which begin today and will continue until April 29th are free, take place from Tuesday to Saturday and last 90 minutes.

The Zorrotzaure route starts at the Artiach biscuit factory (Ribera de Deusto, 70), continues to Plazuela Yolanda Gónzalez, the La Coromina Industrial factory, the Frank Gehry Bridge, Calle Ballets Olaeta, the Euskalduna Bridge and finishes at the Palacio Euskalduna.

Those interested in participating should call 944 010 010.
